Whether you’d like to help your children with their homework, gain a promotion at work or change to a more rewarding job, our courses are a great place to start.

So, if you’re starting at the very beginning or just want to brush up on your existing skills, we can help you. As your skills and confidence grow, you can go on to gain nationally recognised qualifications.
- The English and maths qualifications are nationally recognised qualifications that are the equivalent to that of GCSE level.
- The courses are offered online and with full tutor support. You can either do the course at our centre or from home or work if you have access to the internet.

How do I get a certificate in Adult numeracy or literacy?
There is a test for each certificate. Once you’ve completed your maths or English course(s) , to get a certificate you need to take and pass a short test. This can be done at a time to suit you.
What the tests are like
- You take your test in a learndirect centre – a familiar environment you feel comfortable in.
- The tests are carried out on a computer so you can answer all the questions at a
touch of a button. - There are 40 multiple choice questions
- The English tests take 1 hour and the maths test takes 1 hour 15 mins.
- The tests are free to eligible learners
